March Ipsy Bag

Hello loves, I'm back with March's ipsy bag review. As you know from my last ipsy post  I was not sure if I was going to continue with my subscription but I decided to continue because for $10 a month getting surprise makeup items is pretty much a great deal right? Here is s snap shot of what came in this months ipsy bag.

There was only four items in this months bag but it really did not upset me because the items were from brand names that I've gotten and liked in past bags, so obviously I was excited to try out new items! Through ipsy I got to try out Pixi's Flawless and Poreless- pore minimizing face primer and a Beauty Bronzer in the shade Subtly Suntouched and I LOVED these items. From Chella I have had the opportunity to test out their Dazzling Dark Brown Eyebrow Color Pencil and the Ivory Lace Highlighter, again both items...amazing! I have never tried bareMinerals lipstick but I have used their mineral foundation. NYX, well I have many of their blushes Jumbo Eye Pencils among other products and truly enjoy working with them. So as you can see I was happy seeing the brands in my bag this month. Now for the fun part lets see what I thought about this months products.

First beauty product in my bag, Pixi-Flawless Beauty Primer retails for $9.00 . This primer is meant to even the skin tone while adding a youthful glow to the skin. I believe this would be a great product to use in the Fall and Winter months. In this picture I applied a thick layer on my hand but when you buff it in to the skin it gives a nice radiant appearance. For those of you with amazing skin you will defiantly get away with just the primer on its own. I feel that if you apply this primer to the skin before your foundation the foundation will block the glow especially if its a matte finish. Maybe if you mix the primer into the foundation it might add a slight glow to the foundation.

Second beauty product in my bag, NYX Love in Rio Palette in The Brazilian retails for $6.00 . I have to say I was quite disappointed in this product. I was expecting crazy pigmented colors but I found only one of the colors met my expectations. However you can build up the color except maybe with the lightest shade, I found that one to be a bit powdery. However if you use a base like NYX Eye Shadow Base in a pot or NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil it makes the shadows pop and it seems to have less powdery fall out due to the tackiness of the bases. Personally I will only use these shadows with a base. For a person that is beginning to use makeup this is a good starter trio, because the shadows are not majorly pigmented there is less room for mistakes.

Third beauty product in my bag, Chella-Eyeliner Pen in Indigo Blue retails for $24.00 . This is the item I was the most excited for after I swatched it. The color is amazing, but there are two problems I found. First of all you have to go over your line twice so the color does not seem streaky and second of all the liquid seems to not flow all the way to the tip so the fact that it is so pointy seems pointless because it does not make it easy to wing your liner. So based on these two problems I would say that makes this not everything you want in a liquid eye liner. So would I pay $24.00 for another one? Nope. Sorry Chella, but this does not turn me away from your brand. I will still be happy to try out more from your line.

Fourth and final beauty product in my bag, bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Get Ready retails for $18.00 . First of all lets talk about how cute this miniature lipstick is. I love mini size lipsticks because you can fit them into your pocket of mini wristlet. They are just perfect for travel. Anyway this lipstick is nice shade, but not one I would personally buy. The smell is pleasant and that is very important to me with lipsticks. The formula is nice and creamy and richly pigmented. I'm happy that I got to try out a bareMinierals lipstick, would I repurchase it? Possibly yes but in a different color.

This is the bag all my beauty items arrived in. Something Special about this bag is that the print is and exclusive from artist Klari Reis' geography-based series "Street Anatomy". It looks like ipsy is going to use input from their Subscribers for future bag designs. That is defiantly an honor, don't you think? Overall I would rate this months bag a 4 out of 5. Only because the NYX Shadows were not what I was expecting. Anyway I hope  you enjoyed this blog post.
