Underrated Products

I love that in this tag it was decided to include Underrated Products. I belive we all have products that we jus love and don't give them enough love because they are not was is popular at the moment. So for me this is what I feel does not get enough credit.

1. e.l.f Studio makeup brushes, they are extreamly soft and have found myself reaching for these equally as much as my Sigma brushes. My first brush was the angled blush brush and I fell in love with it so I decided to start purchasing a few more and they have not disappointed me. I suggest you pick some up.

2. e.l.f Baked Blushes, are gorgeous on the cheeks. When I'm wearing them they make my cheeks glow beautifully. The pigment on these baked blushes is great. I recommend Pinktastic as a highlight on your cheeks and Rich Rose, Passion Pink, and Peachy Cheeky.

3. Pixi Flawless & Poreless is another one that deserves some love. This face primer does a really great job creating a smooth canvas and base for your Foundation. This makes me look flawless. (& no photo editing Required, LOL!)

4. Nicole by OPI Nailpolishes I have to say have some nice colors I'm some if thier collections. I have😂 Selina from the Selina Gomez collection. I get so many complements when I wear that one. I actually picked that one up becuse my sister was wearing it over her acrylics once and I was like WOW love the color! Another one is Southern Charm from the Carrie Underwood collection. It is such an amazing nude color. Love love love them.

5. Maybelline the Elixer lipglossss have a bit of talk going around but I feel like NOT enough. Everyone (including myself) is racing about the NYX butter glosses but I don't hear much about these Maybelline pillow in a tube of a lipgloss... I don't understand. They make your lips feel like smooth plush pillows, they smell great, they don't taste bad, not sticky, the pigment is great for a lipgloss, and the packaging is cool! Check these babies out!

6. Maybelline Clean Express Makeup Remover. This makeup removed is the only makeup remover it have repurchased more than three times! This removes even the toughest waterproof makeup. Yes that's right that waterproof mascara comes right off.

7. The Balm cosmetics Meet Matt(e) Nude palette, this baby has such great pigmented colors, and did you catch the fact that it's an all matte shadow palette?? Yep it is. Everyone who love a makeup should get this palette.

So this is the roundup of products I believe deserve a bit more love. For real check these out.

Favorite Perfume

#20daysofmakeup I'm excited about this day the tag because I get to share my long time favorite perfume, Glow by JLo. This perfume has been in my collection since I was seventeen. I received it as a gift from my then boyfriend now Husband so it holds an extra special place in my heart.

One of the most important qualities I look for in a perfume is that it is not an all day overwhelming scent. I like the scent to linger on my skin and clothing softly but noticeable by others and my self, Glow by JLo does exactly that.

The Notes found in this scent are Orange flower, Grapefruit, Rose, Sandalwood, Soft Amber, Jasmine, Vanilla and Musk. This scent is described as Fresh & Clean while expressing Sexy. Not only is the scent expressive in the sexy department, the bottle it self shows off major curves with a delicate chain and bejeweled JLo pendent. Pick up your own bottle and experience the Glow.

Current Wish List

I don't know if you've been following my IG account but I have been Participating in a tag called 20DaysOfMakeup. Here are the details in my wish list:

My wish list is never ending, but let's take a look and see what's on the top of the list.

1⃣ Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet, smells Amazing. I got a sample at sephora and will be getting me the full size. SOON.

2⃣ Bobbi Brown Extra Repair Eye Cream, I have heard and read such great things about this product that I've convinced my self that paying the price for this baby is justifiable. Plus I want my eyes to keep looking great so Cha-Ching!
3⃣ Makeup Geek Cosmetics (MUG) eyeshadows, I want them all! All of of them. I love that Marleena's products are made in the USA and they are comparable to MAC shadows with ought the heavy price. So I can't wait to get my first bunch.
4⃣ Extra Large Z Palette, to store my new #MUG Blushes =) they are amazing quality, hence me wanting all the MUG eyeshadows.
5⃣ Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipsticks, I swatched them at the sephora store and was like WOW but the price made me put it back Quickly. But I might just have to bite the bullet. Their color selection is really nice and just expanded as well.
6⃣ Bobbi Brown Sand Eye Palette, like I need another palette right? But it's sooooo gorgeous. The colors are so alluring. Just look at the Golds.
7⃣ Toofaced Country Palette, this is new and I would like to try it out the colors look pretty and my Naturals palette did not disappoint so I think this one won't either.
8⃣ Lorac Cosmetics Alter Ego lipstick, these lipsticks have been raved about by a lot of beauty gurus on YouTube so I headed out to Ulta and checked them out. The color payoff is amazing and I just can't wait to pickup a few of these. (I'm obsessed with lip products)
9⃣ Lastly on this list... Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté lipstick, this is considered such a Luxury Lipstick. The packaging is ADORABLY GORGEOUS! If I were to get one of these I would pick it up in a nude or light pink color, something that can be worn often because the price for these is ridiculous. But I believe every girl who LOVES makeup should own one FANCY lipstick.

Share your wish list on Instagram and tag me so I can see it =) Have A Great Saturday and TTYL.

Top Five Lip Products

So my Top Five Lip Products are as follows. I have to day I'm surprised I didn't grab any other colors I feel like I kinda stuck to nudes and purple, anyway this is what I like so here you go my loves. 1⃣ #sephora #pantone lipgloss in Orchid. This is such a beautiful magenta purple, This gloss is ridiculously pigmented and creamy, seriously one swipe and your good. This came in a set with two other lipgloss's as part of their limited edition color of the year and I seriously regret not buying me a backup set😔 palm to forehead!  2⃣ @maybelline Brazen Berry from this vivids collection is So gorgeous swatched and on the lips. These lipsticks do not disappoint, the application is smooth and pigmented and best of all they are pleasantly moisturizing. In the tube it looks more purple on the lips it translates more if a magenta color but looks fabulous and I get so many questions and compliments on it when I wear it 💁 Love it! 3⃣ @lorealparisusa in Fairest Nude of course! Can't leave my holy Grail  Product out, like in my previous post this is my go to Nude lipstick I feel like it's just so perfect on me and I'm so comfortable with the color. It's a lipstick you don't have to be super careful with because it's a nude, you can apply it without a mirror the consistency is not as creamy as the Maybelline making you have to reapply more often but I don't mind that 💋 4⃣ @whiteninglightning Color Your Smile Lip Gloss in Nude. I was so surprised about this lipgloss because I knew it was pretty but i thought it was a basic "nude" lipgloss, however when ever I wear it even on its own and not over a lipstick I get asked what I'm wearing. So I pull it out and show it off by opening it and reveling the LED Light inside they become in Awww and ask where to get it, so tell them 😊 plus the little mirror on the side is so convenient! The gloss is decently pigmented and is not too sticky it's a great gloss. 5⃣ @limecrimemakeup lipstick in Babette is SO PIGMENTED! All of these #limecrime lipsticks are. They are so cool!! And the packaging who could resist? Not me 🙋 this lipstick lasts it's creamy but make sure your lips are moisturized because chapped lips are not the business.

Hope u loved this post!

Concealer

Day 7. Well I never really thought about how many concealers I have, I was a bit surprised when I laid all of them down.  @officialelfcosmetics Medium Coverage Concealer does a great job covering up redness and pimples. @maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer is great in the under eye area and blends nicely, it also does a great job with my pores on my cheeks👌. I feel like it catches the light a certain way and makes my cheeks look smooth. Love it! 😍 #hardcandy Glamoflauge is SO opaque! You seriously need real little of this product to cover any thing up. My only complaint is that it can be a tad drying so if u have dry skin IT WILL STICK to your flaky skin making it look gross. If you have decently moisturized skin u will be fine. This concealer can be heavy in the under eye area but could be great for brightening. Again mind the condition of your skin. @officialelfcosmetics Complete Coverage Concealer, I like using this little palette to carve out my brows. You have to warm up the product to blend out well. @revlon Color Stay Concealer is a decent concealer. I like this concealer for spot coverage. When I use this in my under eye area I feel like I could still see through to my under eye circles. When I set the concealer with a powder I feel like it crumbles a bit, like fine crumbles. #covergirl & #olay simply ageless concealer is a great idea for a concealer, however I think there was some problems with it because it was quickly discontinued... The idea of mixing a moisturizing formula with concealer is genius especially for use in the under eye area, except it did not leave it moisturized. Plus after applying it I use a powder to set it and it accentuates my under eye lines making them look DRY! No good. Grate coverage horrible finish post setting with powder. Lastly we have this Sheer Cover Concealer, as u can see I use the lighter side mostly. I rarely use it though. When I do I use it to highlight under the eyes. For all concealers I like to use my @sigmabeauty F86 and my #realtechniques setting Brush. This was a quick post situation but I hope u liked it.

Top Three Makeup Brushes

We all have those specific Makeup brushes we go crazy looking for when we misplace them. So I thought to my self, which ones do I panic over if I can't find them while doing my makeup? That's how I pinpointed what my Top Three Brushes are.

1. Sigma E40 Tapered Blending Brush.
The name of the brush says it, it's a blending brush but it is amazingly soft and gentle on the eye lid and does not tug or skip. You know how some brushes tug on your skin and cause a skipping pattern on your eye makeup? This brush does not do that, even on mature eyes with more wrinkles. It distributes color flawlessly and blends colors together like a dream. I would say that if you want your eye makeup to look professionally done you must have a quality blending brush and blend blend blend. I got my brush as part of the Mr. Bunny Essential kit by Sigma. P

2. Anastasia's Mini Duo Brush #7.
After using this brush a few times it became a must have for me. THIS IS THE BRUSH I GO CRAZY FOR LOOKING SOMETIMES. It's an important brush in my collection because it's what allows me to define my brows which frame my face and pull my makeup look together. This brush has two sides to it, a angled brush to apply you brow powder and a spooley to brush out your brow hairs or blend the product trough. This brush can create very fine lines to define the brow and pics up product very generously unlike other brushes I've owned.

3. Beauty Blender.
Ok so technically this is not a brush, but it definetly falls under that category since it is used to apply makeup. Plus if it was on a stick like I seen other versions it would probably be considered a brush. Any way let's talk about this sent from makeup-heaven tool. The beauty blender is used damp to apply and blend out your foundation for an airbrushed finish. It does such an AMAZING job it's crazy. The water in the sponge prevents the sponge from sucking up the foundation product and it allows you to use less of your favorite foundation. (Meaning your not wasting your money) the soft texture of the sponge is what leaves the well blended airbrush finish. Not only does the Beauty Blender blend your foundation you can also blend out your concealer and apply cream blush to the apples of your cheeks with impeccable results. This is a must and completely changed the way I felt about foundation.

I hope you found this post informative and gave you the inspiration to test out these must have Brushes/Beauty Blender and make them part of your permanent collection.

Day Makeup Look

Here is a pretty day makeup look you can rock this spring and summer. The main focus of this Day look are the eyes. I have been using the crap out of my e.l.f. Cosmetics products lately. I like my 100 shadow palette because it has so many colors in it! I am going to be honest though not all colors are silky smooth or completely pigmented, maybe I will do its own post here on my blog with an official review, what do you think? Let me know in the comments below if you would like that. Below you will find pictures of the eye makeup I created using all the products in the picture above. Read on for a step by step tutorial in this post.
Another product that I have been trying to reach out for more often is my smash box Wonder Vision Wheel in Sparks. Girls I hope you picked up this product, these colors are the bomb-diggity. The peachy gold and golden gold colors are amaze balls! Also for this look I used a MAC pigment in the color Melon, it is so gorgeous.
Below is a picture of the colors I used for the makeup look I created below.

Here are the steps for this makeup look.
  1. Apply a base for your eyeshadow, I used Maybelline's Color Tattoo Metal 24hr eyeshadow in the color Barely Branded. This is similar to MAC Paint pots. You can use this alone or as a base to help your eyeshadow last all day.
  2. Use a flat shader brush and pickup from the e.l.f 100 shadow palette the cranberry shade and the shade peach from the Smashbox Wonder Vision wheel and pack that onto the inner third part of the lid and the outter third part of the lid. Leave the middle portion of the lid bare.
  3. Darken up the outer using the shade Cocoa from the Smashbox Wonder Vision wheel using a Blending fluffy brush. Without dipping your fluffy brush into Cocoa again use the remaining product onto the crease using window wiping motions lightly. Be careful not to darken the crease too much, this is a Day Look.
  4. Using your Flat Shader brush again pick up MAC's Pigment in the color Melon and applythat right on the center of the lid. Make sure to blend the edges in with the outer third corners.
  5. Using Maybelline's Line Stiletto Liquid eye liner line your eye and wing it out.
  6. Curl your lashes and coat them with your favorite mascara, I used Clinique's High impact mascara and Clinique's Bottom Lash mascara.
  7. Line your water line with a black liner, I used Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in the color Zero.
So those where the steps for this makeup look. I hope you enjoyed this post.

Pretty Hurts

So Ive been on a kick recently doing Celebrity inspired makeup tutorials. My most recent one was inspired by Beyoncé and her new video Pretty Hurts. My look is a tad darker than hers and looks extremely sexy. It is most defiantly an evening look or a look you can pull off at an event. The best thing about this look is that it was created pocket friendly products from e.l.f. Cosmetics. See what amazingly pigmented products I used in the video below. I hope you enjoy =) Also if there are any celebrity looks you would like me to do let me know. Leave a comment with what look you would like to see next.

Love you all and Please keep an eye out for an upcoming giveaway!

Clinique High Impact Mascara
Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Blak liner

Rodeo Fun

Hello loves! This weekend was so fun, I hadn't had this much fun in a while. I mean Rodeo fun! So about a week and a half ago my husband came home and informed me that there was to be a rodeo in Woodland CA and that he REALLY wanted to go. He asked me to guess who would be performing and I answered Ezequiel Peña? He looked at me in shock and responded, how did you know? I really did not know I just guessed. Ezequiel Peña is a Mexican singer who appears a lot at rodeos and I remember as a child my parents took me to a rodeo to see this same person but it started raining so they sent everybody home and he didn't perform. Now, its not really my thing but I could see the excitement in my husbands eyes and agreed. He was really excited to see another famous singer who was also making an appearance by the name EL Coyote.

We ended up inviting a few friends and family members to the event. We had so much fun. We ate nachos with jalapenos, chicharones, fruit, ice-cream, and had lots of beer! We got to see men ride bulls and that was thrilling. Unfortunately there was an accident and one of the men got trampled on by a HUGE bull. They had to take him away to get medical attention. The poor guy was bleeding by the ribcage area, it was so sad. They continued with music and dancing horses to get the crowd going again. Soon we all forgot about the poor guy and continued the good times. (I do hope he is well) A couple different bands played music but we are really waiting for Ezequiel and El Colyote. Ezequiel Peña Jr came out first and sang three songs, after that came his father who we were waiting for. He sang a  few well know songs including one of my favorites "Que Chulos Ojos" translation is "What beautiful Eyes". He performed with six different horses. All of them are highly trained and beautiful. They dance to the music and look so elegant. The color of their hair is so bright and shiny. He sang a lot of songs and he was so great with his audience. He actually came to the sides to shake peoples hands and take pictures! My friend go to take a picture with him! I was up on the bleachers at the time and unfortunately did not get to take a picture with him. I did however get to see him pretty close and got video footage of his performance.

At the end of his performance El Coyote was up. At this point the whole audience was down on the dirt and ready to dance! At first I didn't want to go down there because I didn't want to get my boots dirty... haha. My friend all of a sudden jumped the fence and down on to the dirt! She told us to go down there but I was hesitant. I looked over at my other friend and asked her if we should and she smiled like she wanted to but then again I didn't want to make the jump and mess up my ankle or something (I always think worst case scenario). Then our cousin told us he would help us down. SO we were like F it! Lets go! So the Dancing began. About ten to fifteen minutes later or guys came down to join us (I bet they spotted all the other guys asking us to dance, haha) so we pretty much danced the night away to El Coyote. We were covered in dirt and we had no care in the world! I even wrote "Wash Me" on my Sunglasses onto of my head, it was crazy. Once the night came was coming to an end we all decided that we needed some more food, it was only about 10:30ish so we headed out to an In n Out burger joint. Let me tell you those Burgers where bomb! We hung out there and talked some more about the days events. After that we all went our separate ways home and that was our Sunday!

I hope I didn't bore you, haha. I just wanted to share what I did over the weekend because I had such a good time. So if your still here at the end of this post here is a polished image of what my makeup looked like this weekend all products used will be listed below the image.

My Hair Style

My hair style has changed so much through out the years. As a kid my mom chose to keep my hair long and she loved it so much that I ended up having long hair pretty much my whole childhood and teen life. I finally got to do what EVER I wanted with it when I turned eighteen. First thing on my list of things to do when I hit my "Adult" age was CHOP off my hair! Yes I was that desperate. That, and start wearing black eyeliner and mascara. She was so upset... oh well, I put up with the long hair for A LONG time. Not only that but I was required to wear my hair in a braid (while in high school) every other day! I was so embarrassed. I felt like a little girl whose mom did her hair and chose her clothes. Yes she had a say in my clothing as well, but that was not as bad. I was allowed to wear tank tops, Yay! Anyway you might be thinking why I was embarrassed, well this was the time where all the other young girls got to experiment with their hair and makeup. They had shoulder length hair, layers, and beautiful highlights. Me; long squared cut hair and in a braid every other day no black eyeliner and No Black mascara! So can you blame me for being excited about turning the age of 18? I have to say though I did sneak in the black mascara here and there. When I started dating my husband at the age of seventeen I feel like my mom backed off a little on the black mascara and eyeliner because I wore it on the weekend when I was going out on dates him.

I ended up having a friend cut and highlight my hair and it looked so cute! I cut my hair just up to my shoulders and got a few highlights. After that I continued changing up my hair looks. At one point I had a brown color in my hair with Blond Red and Black highlights and low lights! Yes I had four colors in my hair and it was the best combo ever. That was actually my husbands favorite hair look, but it was the worst on my pocket. Ive cut my hair as short as a pixie cut which was extremely bold of me! It makes me smile BIG thinking of it. I remember our Market Executive visited our store and did a double take when he saw me, he made a comment about the drastic change. It was a nice comment but you know when someone is B.S'ing you. LOL I was fine with it I think that everyone (including my self) was shocked about the pixie cut! My husband was like NEVER AGAIN! Please! Oh, Memories. Since that I have dyed my hair black, dark brown and blond. Its a real costly thing and little by little I dyed it less and less. The hard part was growing out my hair again. I went years trying to grow back my hair but overtime it grew i would just cut it right off again because of split ends. Yes you read that right, I wanted to grow back my hair and I did. All that fuss about chopping it off and then we came back to this conclusion my hair looks great long. I don't regret cutting my hair because it was something i really wanted to do. Would I do it again? Yes.  Would I cut it tomorrow? No. I feel like I will go some time with long hair and down the line I know I will cut it again.

At the moment my hair style is nothing glamorous. I keep it pretty simple. I'm at a state where I want no more upkeep than a simple shampoo and weekly deep conditioner. Currently it's a Dark brown with violet undertones. However its a bit washed out but it still looks a nice color. When I do my hair in the morning I usually just blow-dry and use a round brush. I keep my hair down and semi-straight on a daily biases for work. I rarely use a curling iron or straightener the same day I blow dry, unless I have an event to go to. I part my hair to the side and wear long side bangs with a bobby pin pulling them off my face. I do have some long layers in front just so when I curl my hair they frame my face nicely. When I go to a party and time permits I like to curl my hair or use my wave heating tool. I think that curls and waves make you look more glam. Really that's all there is to it at the moment.

So I guess you got read a little more about me and my earlier years. I hope it was as entertaining for you as it was for me to reminisce about the past and write about it all up until now. So I wish you all had better teen hair/makeup experiences. Remember find that Sparkle and let it shine!

This is my hair at its current state:

Nail Confessions

I have a love hate relationship with my nails. I have to confess, I am a nail bitter. I know I know gross right? I just can't help my self sometimes. I try hard and I am successful for periods of time but then something happens that gets my nerves all rattled up and there they go! I have bitten my nails ever since I can remember. I never had beautiful looking nails as a kid or teen and it sucked because I was embarrassed. I remember my parents rubbing hot peppers on my nails to help me stop, but hey I'm Mexican so needless to say they were just seasoning my fingers for me LOL! OK sorry probably not a good image right? Anyway (when I was in seventh grade) without my parents permission on a vacation to see my aunt and cousins in Chicago, Illinois I visited a Nail Shop with my Cousin Nora and we got our nails done together. I used up a big portion of my vacation spending allowance and I didn't care because I was so ashamed of my ugly nails. I was so excited afterwards and they looked so amazing! I got a beautiful pink, blue and purple floral airbrushed design on them and they made my hands look longer and more girly. When I got back home to California my mom was so mad I thought she was going to take me to get them removed! She didn't but she said that I wouldn't be allowed to get them done again. To the point, for two-three weeks I was unable to bite my nails and got in the habit of not biting due to the acrylics. So after the acrylics came off my own nails were semi better looking because the nail beds had a full nail on them. That was a major improvement. Of course after time passed my habits came back and there I was with crappy looking nails again. So when I got to high school my mom allowed me to get my nails done here and there but only for special events. Once I started working I was able to finance my own little pleasure so my nails got done more often. As many of you know getting your nails done can be expensive so I stopped getting my nails done about six years ago.

I have worked really hard on my will power to stop the nail biting and have been successful without the help of acrylics. I have grown beautiful looking nails and I am extremely proud of my self; because I was able to grow my own nails I also got to grow my Nail Polish collection. I like to play around with my nail polish and love to change up the color week to week. I will have to share with you my collection at a later date. Unfortunately at this time my nails look like crap. When I get nervous I start biting my nails. My husband and I like the show on TV called The Walking Dead. I loved that show but found that it was causing me anxiety and my stomach became quite upset. Then there went my nails. The nerves while watching that show are too much for me. So I stopped watching it, but I find my eyes wandering towards the TV when my husband is watching it and then without thinking I my hands are in my mouth.

What I do to bring my nails back to their beautiful appearance is I pamper my hands with an at home Manicure and I make it a point of using hand cream at work every time after I wash my hands every time. At night I apply cuticle oil to my nails and cuticles and then I apply a generous amount of Vaseline and wear aloe infused fuzzy gloves. This helps keep the moisture and Vaseline on my hands and not all over my sheets and most important it keeps it off my face (Don't want pimples). Wearing the gloves also helps so I can't get to my nails, therefore I can't bite. Putting on my gloves every evening helps me get in the habit of not biting my nails. Another thing I do to help my self out is take a Biotin Supplement everyday. Biotin is a dietary supplement that helps with hair and nail growth and its good for your skin. I purchased my Biotin Supplement bottle at Walmart, it comes with 150 soft gels. The directions say that adults should take 1-5 daily with a meal however I only take one or two a day.

So as you know now from this post I am working on my nail recovery. I will post a picture of my nails at their current state. Please be nice, I just shared with you one of the things that embarrassed me as a kid. Soon my nails will be looking amazing again and will show you. I do have pictures of my nails on my Instagram @ahlixcervantes if you want to see. Until next time remember to Always Sparkle.

Favorite Lipstick

Isn't it funny how we all gravitate back to what we truly love. We can have tons of things, accessories clothes, shoes and makeup, still we always go back to our one true favorite. Today I want to share with you my Favorite Lipstick and Im also going to throw in a little tag I found via twitter.

As much as I love my bright and outgoing lipsticks I have one I always have readily available to me and that is my L'oreal Color Riche Lipstick in  Fairest Nude 800. Its actually the only lipstick I keep a backup for. This color to me, is the color you call would "My Lips But Better" because it makes my lips look just perfectly nude without trying so hard. This color is neither too pale nor too pink, its really just perfect. This is a lipstick you keep in your handbag as an emergency lipstick because you can apply it without a mirror and not worry about the application being so perfect because its not a scandalous color. This lipstick goes with every makeup look I put together and what I love the most is that it looks great with my skin tone. The formula is like a mix of a creme and sheen. It applies to the lips like a sheen lipstick (slippery) but looks like a creme on the lips. The staying power on is good for a drugstore lipstick, keep in mind that it is a nude color so it does seem to fade faster then a bright one would. However it does not bother me at all. The packaging of the product is a nice gold squared tube with a gold center closure with the L'oreal Brand name on it. The one thing about the packaging I don't love is that the top cap of the tube. It has a slant to it so when I store it in my acrylic lipstick holder upside down (because I like the names of my lipsticks to show) it tilts to the side. I know its not really a big deal because this lipstick really lives in my hand bag most of the time but it still bugs me. Something that could be a turn off to some is the scent of the lipstick. It smells old school to me and is quite overwhelming. The scent brings back memories of lipsticks my mother owned when I was a kid, at first I didn't like it but because I love the color I sucked it up and now it really doesn't bother me. I encourage you to try out this lipstick, it retails for only $7.99 Let me know if you did and if you liked in a comment, or even if you already own it!

I was looking over Twitter a while back and I found a fun tag on Beauty Book Blog called The Lip Stick Tag. I thought it was pretty cool and wanted to give it a whirl, so let's get to it.

-How many lipsticks do you own? I currently own 35 lipsticks however that is NOT the full extent of my lippie collection... (lip balms, glosses, crayons).

-What was your first ever lipstick? My first ever lipstick was given to me by one of my dads older lady clients. It was a full size lipstick form Lancome in the shade of Bright Red. Im sure she got it as a gift with purchase with one of her recent skincare purchases. It was a nice color, however my mom was offended and took it away from me because she said that a 13 year old had not business owning a Bright Red Lipstick. Haha she probably just liked it for her self!

-What is your most worn lipstick? Well I just went on about that above! L'oreal Color Riche Lipsitck in Fairest Nude 800

-What is your favorite brand for lipstick? My favorite brand for lipstick is Maybelline. I Like the formula of these lipsticks, it is creamy and pigmented. Also they have such a great color selection you are sure to find a shade for you'll love. There is a scent to this lipstick but it is not as strong as the L'oreal lipstick which I appreciate.

-What is your favorite finish? My favorite finish has to be creme-sheen. I don't fully enjoy the sheer lipsticks because I don't want to feel like I have to apply half the tube to get some color you know (bit of exaggeration on the half a tube bit).  This is true for Lipsticks, lip balms I don't mind the whole having to build up the color. I do like Matte lipsticks but I prefer a more moisturizing formula especially in the winter months

-What was the last lip product you bought? Remember how I said that Maybelline has such a great color selection? Well, I just bought myself three lipsticks from their new line Color Sensational The Buffs lip color.  They are such pretty Nude colors Bare All 910, Nude Lust 920 and one Dark color Espresso Exposed. I also picked up two of their Maybelline Elixirs Nude illusion 060 and Petal Blush 100. These are AMAZING! They make your lips feel so plum and plush. The formula is smooth and almost feels like butter but not like a slippery butter, more like thicker but now sticky. They are perf!

-How many lip product do you currently have in your had bag? (including lip balms and glosses) In my hand bag I currently have three lip products. Two lipsticks and one lipgloss.

-What lipstick do you currently use to rock a red lip? I have to confess... I rarely rock a red lip. However when I do I use a highly pigmented lip balm from Cailyn called Big Apple retails for $19.00 .  For a balm it is REALY pigmented and  feels more like a lipstick than a lip balm.

Also its more on the matte side so I usually apply a gloss on top to give it some shine. This balm lasts on your lips a LONG time! I do like to use Hot Mess Lip gloss by be a Bombshell Cosmetics Retails for $14.00 . It is a bright red gloss that can be worn on its own and look stunning. It does not make your lips look over done when worn on its own but it is pigmented enough to give your lips an amazing rosy color.

When I do line my lips with a pencil I use NYX Lip Liner Pencil in 817 Hot Red retails for $3.50, this is more of a matte finish pencil which goes perfectly with this Cailyn Balm.

-How do you store you lipsticks? I recently ordered some clear acrylic lipstick holders. They look so fancy I really love them. For lipsticks with a flat top i store those upside down so I can see the bottom of the tube with the lipstick name.

Unfortunately some of the tubes like my Lime Crime and MAC ones have a round top so they slip to the side =( So I store them right side up. All my lip glosses I keep in a basket in my Alex Drawer from Ikea out of sight

-What lip products are you currently lusting after? Oh my gosh! I would love to get my hands on so many lip products where should I start!? Ok well first would be Dior Crème de Rose Smoothing Plumping lip balm, this lip balm is supposed to be moisturizing with some SPF and its suppose to have a rose scent and I love the scent of roses. Another product I would love to try out is the Dose of Colors Lip Glosses. They Look Crazy pigmented and have amazing colors. Lastly I am really intrigued with Sephora and Pantone Universe Radiant Paint Gloss Trio. If I pick up anything soon I think it might be this one.

So there it is the Lip stick tag, I so hope you made it this far into the Blog Post haha. Please Please comment below and let me know how you liked the post and also follow my blog for more. Thank you so much and till the next post.

March Ipsy Bag

Hello loves, I'm back with March's ipsy bag review. As you know from my last ipsy post  I was not sure if I was going to continue with my subscription but I decided to continue because for $10 a month getting surprise makeup items is pretty much a great deal right? Here is s snap shot of what came in this months ipsy bag.

There was only four items in this months bag but it really did not upset me because the items were from brand names that I've gotten and liked in past bags, so obviously I was excited to try out new items! Through ipsy I got to try out Pixi's Flawless and Poreless- pore minimizing face primer and a Beauty Bronzer in the shade Subtly Suntouched and I LOVED these items. From Chella I have had the opportunity to test out their Dazzling Dark Brown Eyebrow Color Pencil and the Ivory Lace Highlighter, again both items...amazing! I have never tried bareMinerals lipstick but I have used their mineral foundation. NYX, well I have many of their blushes Jumbo Eye Pencils among other products and truly enjoy working with them. So as you can see I was happy seeing the brands in my bag this month. Now for the fun part lets see what I thought about this months products.

First beauty product in my bag, Pixi-Flawless Beauty Primer retails for $9.00 . This primer is meant to even the skin tone while adding a youthful glow to the skin. I believe this would be a great product to use in the Fall and Winter months. In this picture I applied a thick layer on my hand but when you buff it in to the skin it gives a nice radiant appearance. For those of you with amazing skin you will defiantly get away with just the primer on its own. I feel that if you apply this primer to the skin before your foundation the foundation will block the glow especially if its a matte finish. Maybe if you mix the primer into the foundation it might add a slight glow to the foundation.

Second beauty product in my bag, NYX Love in Rio Palette in The Brazilian retails for $6.00 . I have to say I was quite disappointed in this product. I was expecting crazy pigmented colors but I found only one of the colors met my expectations. However you can build up the color except maybe with the lightest shade, I found that one to be a bit powdery. However if you use a base like NYX Eye Shadow Base in a pot or NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil it makes the shadows pop and it seems to have less powdery fall out due to the tackiness of the bases. Personally I will only use these shadows with a base. For a person that is beginning to use makeup this is a good starter trio, because the shadows are not majorly pigmented there is less room for mistakes.

Third beauty product in my bag, Chella-Eyeliner Pen in Indigo Blue retails for $24.00 . This is the item I was the most excited for after I swatched it. The color is amazing, but there are two problems I found. First of all you have to go over your line twice so the color does not seem streaky and second of all the liquid seems to not flow all the way to the tip so the fact that it is so pointy seems pointless because it does not make it easy to wing your liner. So based on these two problems I would say that makes this not everything you want in a liquid eye liner. So would I pay $24.00 for another one? Nope. Sorry Chella, but this does not turn me away from your brand. I will still be happy to try out more from your line.

Fourth and final beauty product in my bag, bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Get Ready retails for $18.00 . First of all lets talk about how cute this miniature lipstick is. I love mini size lipsticks because you can fit them into your pocket of mini wristlet. They are just perfect for travel. Anyway this lipstick is nice shade, but not one I would personally buy. The smell is pleasant and that is very important to me with lipsticks. The formula is nice and creamy and richly pigmented. I'm happy that I got to try out a bareMinierals lipstick, would I repurchase it? Possibly yes but in a different color.

This is the bag all my beauty items arrived in. Something Special about this bag is that the print is and exclusive from artist Klari Reis' geography-based series "Street Anatomy". It looks like ipsy is going to use input from their Subscribers for future bag designs. That is defiantly an honor, don't you think? Overall I would rate this months bag a 4 out of 5. Only because the NYX Shadows were not what I was expecting. Anyway I hope  you enjoyed this blog post.
